Talavera Mexican hand painted majolica egg dish, about 8" across and 3" high. The plate has 12 spaces for deviled eggs or to display colorful Easter eggs. The center has a well for dips or sauce and a cute chicken lid.
The former owner purchased this on a trip to Mexico nearly 30 years ago. It has been displayed but rarely used.
The plate is in excellent condition. The chicken lid has a small defect or nick under the glaze on the inside and an area on the tip of the tail is unpainted. Both are shown in the close-up photos. Both minor imperfections occurred during manufacture.
