Lovely carved cross of edelweiss flowers, 1 3/4" x 1 3/8". French ivory is a form of creamy white celluloid made with a grain to simulate natural ivory. The cross is hand carved, and the flower centers painted in mossy green, just like the real flower.
The cross dates from about 1930 - 1940, and was probably made in Switzerland. The reverse has a c-clasp, attached to the pin with tiny screws. Condition is excellent.
