Set of 8 Holiday Winter Plates - Adams Pottery, Currier and Ives Pattern
Set of six 8" dessert or buffet plates, great for the Thanksgiving, Christmas, winter holidays, or when you need extra plates for entertaining. They were made by Adams Pottery, Staffordshire, England in the 1930's. The picture on the plate is based on the 1864 Currier and Ives lithograph "The Snow Storm", which shows an American country home in winter.
The plates are printed in blue on white pottery, and finished with a very pale blue green celadon glaze. The front and back of all plates are shown in the photos, as there is some variation in the glaze, and one plate has a brownish color. The plates have no chips or cracks, but you will find some age related crazing and the brownish tinge of one plate, previously mentioned.
