Sabina – A Story of the Amish was written by Helen R. Martin, published by The Century Co. and the De Vinne Press in 1905. Helen R. Martin was a popular, but somewhat controversial writer due to her feminist views.
"Sabina" has been both applauded as an important early work depicting the Amish, and has been criticized for its inaccuracies. It is basically a love story, but the main character has a bit of "ESP", too.
This is a discontinued book from the Lancaster public library. Unfortunately, it is in poor condition, with a broken spine and loose pages. I found no missing pages or damage that would prevent reading with care.
