These wash bowls or basins were in every Victorian home prior to modern plumbing. It is is a very large, 19" across, ironstone bowl with a brown transferware pattern of chrysanthemums. It is 4 1/2" high, measured on the outside.

The bowl is unmarked, but most likely made in Staffordshire, England, in the 1880's - 1890's. There are no chips, but there is a hairline running through the bowl. The bowl is very solid and heavy, so the hairline is principally cosmetic.

You probably have indoor plumbing, but this wonderful old bowl will hold fruit, holiday decorations, a salad for two dozen people or simply grace your home.

It is large and heavy, requiring special packing. I will work with you on the best and most economical shipping option. (If we charge excess shipping, you will receive a refund.)
