La Mignonne French folding opera or field glasses, made in the 1920's. They are 3 1/2" x 4 1/4". The viewers may be turned up or stored flat. They are marked on the end of the handle: La Mignonne, Patent Bte, SGDG.
The glasses are damaged, though the lenses are intact and the viewers move. The lower body is dented. They were found in this condition during the renovation of an old building in the Washington, DC area. This model would have been used by gentlemen in the early 1900's, not just for opera, but for hunting or travel.
