Home to Thanksgiving
Adams Staffordshire Potteries of England made this collection of 10 1/2" dinner plates in the 1930's. Each of the plates has a scene from a Currier and Ives engraving, and has the beautiful wild rose border. The transferware plates were individually tinted by hand before the glaze was applied.
The image on the reverse is from an original "N. Currier, Lithographer, Engravings for the People" advertisement. Adams made 12 different plates in this design. There were similar editions made in the 50's. The later editions were not hand finishes and lacked the lovely rose border.
This plate is in very good condition with a few faint scratches in the center glaze.
I have other plates in this series and am very happy to combine orders for a better postal rate.
