Set of 7 1950's day of the week hand towels, each embroidered with a task for the day. The hard working African American or Black lady does the wash on Monday, ironing on Tuesday, mending on Wednesday, goes visiting on Thursday, bakes on Friday and sweeps the floor on Saturday. On Sunday, she gets dressed up and goes to church.
The towels are 34" square, flour-sack cotton, hand hemmed. I have shown the reverse of Friday, so you can appreciate the neat embroidery. The towels are in excellent condition, washed and gently pressed. I see no stains or damages, no odors. They look like they have never been used, but I cannot guarantee that.
