The Girl Scout Membership pin was designed by Juliette Low in the early 1900's. This pun dates from around 1960, and is Type 5, which was produced from about 1940 - 1979. It features the typical 4 stars, 7 arrows, 5 bars, graduated flat tail, shield with top and side borders only, bent legs, and 11 outer flowers. There is an R on the reverse for Robbins Co. According to collector's guides, the safety-pin catch signifies an earlier issue.
The pin measures 7/8" x 7/8". It is non-magnetic, and is in excellent vintage condition.
