Two wooden butter prints or stamps, which would have fitted into a press mold for farmhouse butter. Each one is approximately 1 3/4" square and about 1/2" thick. The pieces are not perfectly square.
One depicts a Dutch girl holding a pot of flowers, and the second is an eagle on a branch. The carving is relatively shallow but were obviously made by a carver with artistic talent! Found in a Pennsylvania farmhouse near Valley Forge, these date from the mid to late 1800's.
