Old copper bucket with patina and some verdigris. The bucket is 9 1/2" high, and 9" in diameter. The handle, when held upright, add another 5" (it does not stand up unaided). The copper is a warm burnished orange, the handle is hammered brass.
The bucket is approximately 100 years old and does show significant wear. The body is mostly polished copper, but there are many dents and the bottom is split at the side, so it will not hold water. It will, however serve as a container for a potted plant or dried flowers, a receptacle for kindling or a beautiful display piece.
There is tarnish and verdigris, which I have not tried to polish. The splash of verdigris on the side is more recent, and I do not know its origin and I have not tried to remove it (I like the color). If you are seriously interested in this piece, and do not like the splash of verdigris, I'll test this small area for you.
