This Chinese dance is still attached to the original box - the base is secured by a string, and I did not want to remove her. The doll was purchased in Beijing in the 1970's.
The doll is about 9" high. She has a cloth covered face with painted features and an elaborate hair-do. She wears a white silk robe with turquoise colored trim and caries a white silk plume. There was no lid, and the inside of the box was a bit dusty, but the doll is in excellent condition. The box is about 10" x 5" x 3 1/2" and is a bit worn on the outside.
This doll is part of a large collection of dolls from around the world. The former owner collected these over the course of many decades, from her travels or the travels of friends and family. They date from the 1930's to about 1979. She kept a record of the year and place of acquisition, so we are able to identify most of these dolls. We would like to find new homes for all these dolls, and are happy to combine shipping and to consider offers for multiple purchases.
