Pretty little doll, 6 1/2" high. She was purchased in Kyoto, Japan in 1977. The body of the doll is a wooden pin, and the head is a composite material. The face is hand-painted and her hair is a soft cotton floss.
The doll is dress in a flowered kimono and holds a little fan. She has pearl bead earrings and sequins in her hair. The clothing is glued on and not removable.
The doll is in very good condition. There are two small spots of missing paint on her face (near the right eyebrow). She has been in storage since the mid 1980's.
This doll is part of a large collection of dolls from around the world. The former owner collected these over the course of many decades, from her travels or the travels of friends and family. They date from the 1930's to about 1979. She kept a record of the year and place of acquisition, so we are able to identify most of these dolls. We would like to find new homes for all these dolls, and are happy to combine shipping and to consider offers for multiple purchases.
