Here is a delightful set of Chinese export silver tongs with an engraved bamboo motif along each handle. Early to mid 20th c. Marked with a "K" in a diamond, "90%silver" and a "Y" in a rectangular cartouche. To my knowledge this mark is unpublished, making this a particularly nice find for the collector of Chinese export silver. They would also be lovely with a mid-century ice bucket and add that touch of Asian flair!
The tongs are 90% silver, meaning that they are 900/1000 parts silver, a slightly lower grade than sterling silver (which is 925/1000 parts). This is typical for Chinese export silver. They measure approximately 6" long and weigh 1.6 Ozt, so they are fairly hefty. Very good condition, with no bends or breaks, etc.
