English sterling silver gravy ladle. The ladle has a date letter "a", but is missing its town mark, making it difficult to conclusively identify.
It does have the George III duty mark, dating it from 1786-1821, hence the c. 1800 dating. The maker's mark is also rubbed (see photos). Overall, a lovely gravy ladle in the fiddle pattern with a good weight and feel in your hand (1.4 troy ounces). No monogram or monogram removal. Ready for your holiday table or collection of early English silver.
Measures 6 5/8" long by 2 1/4" across the bowl.
