Mrs. Hilde Walborg designed handbags and accessories that even today, they are highly coveted. However, her most prized creations were the beaded bags from Italy and Belgium. This pearlescent caviar and glass beaded gem is a handmade treasure from Belgium. In a spectacular floral arrangement, this rare Walborg is complete with its coin purse. It is from a private collection and in excellent condition.
From the early 1940's, it is stunning. Each of these high end models took over four months to complete. None were alike. Even the wiring stays were done by hand. The effect is pure glamour and you will know right away that this is not a mainstream evening bag. And what’s more: It is gold-plated.
You can see the painstaking work which is a hallmark of these rare handmade Walborg’s from Belgium. The colors are brilliant and full as is the trim and chain. You lift the latch to open and you are greeted to genuine Crème silk lining. It is flawless inside. The shimmering silk leaves no doubt. Inside the pocket rests the pristine coin purse. The snaps are smooth and clean. The tags is intact and indicates its origin.
Outside, the beads give it a luxurious air and the colors add to the overall elegance of this fine Walborg. Only six beads missing at the top but, being on the seam, they are not noticeable and are easily replaced. There are no other issues with this fine, ultra-rare Walborg.
The snake chain is smooth and has no kinks. The frame is straight and closes as it should. This is a Walborg that will make an outstanding presentation and it is a rare Walborg that will continue to increase in value.
The dimensions are: 7 ½ "L x 6"H and the chain affords the formal 5"drop.
