The mid nineteen-fifties was a time when handbag designers really came out with some of the most memorable designs of the twentieth century. There was so much innovation that the competition was tight to see who could “out innovate” and be the first with a unique design.
This stunning mid nineteen-fifty Framed Vinyl Satchel by ER Originals, Eli Rosenberg of Miami, Florida epitomized this beautiful style. It is a combination of gold strands and leaves in muted, see-through vinyl with a fabric lining and a Lucite with gold flecks. This is a beautiful handbag and it is in excellent condition considering the age. Today, many of these found are in sad condition with the Lucite melted or the vinyl worn through, or dull. Not so with this one. It is from a private collection.
When you first hold it, the vinyl feels rich and smooth. The handle is clean, clear, gleams brilliantly. Open the kiss-snaps to see the clean Amber satin lining. Has only a couple of faint marks inside but remarkably, none has bled through the satin. There is a single see through security pocket and behind this pocket is the maker’s stamp, clearly visible.
On the outside, the vinyl is clean and the gold strands are perfect. The design is an art palette of Gold, Black. Also, the Branson frame shines well and has just the minimum of plate loss and wear. The pictures show just how nice this handbag is. This is a beautiful ER Originals Bag and it will bring many compliments and it is a true collectible. Very few exist in such marvelous condition as this beauty.
The dimensions are 10 ½ “L x 8”H x 2 ½ “D and the handle affords a 3 ½ “drop.
