1950's Gold Lame Envelope Clutch
This is a gorgeous Gold Lame Envelope Evening Clutch. From the mid 1950's, this is a handbag that clearly has had the best of care. This sterling model is no exception. Made of such luxurious Golden Covered Pleather, it will leave no doubt from the moment you hold it and smell the richness. From a private collection, it is in excellent condition.
Upon holding this gem, it is soft and has a gleam with a brilliance not often seen on such a vintage handbag. The four pleats are intact and the Tan top-stitching is clean. Open the flap to see the Bronze Faille lining. It is flawless inside. The name has long disappeared but it is more than likely made by HL (Harry Levine) from New York City. The pin snap was used from the 1940's until the very early 1960's. This model dates to the mid 1950's.
The main compartment has two solid brass stays to keep the sides honest. On the outside, the Gold Lame is spotless clean and only has one tiny mark on the bottom corner. It is invisible and of no significance. The gussets are clean with no cracking. This a vintage handbag that will match any attire for any event and will bring many compliments and looks.
A vintage classic of pure style that is very elegant and very well made. It is really just that nice.
