The Sheridan Collection from Coach were the premium, most expensive line, at the time from Coach’s high-end collections. The Collection was made for about two to three years and each was handcrafted from imported leather. The Sheridan Collection made their debut after the Coach Dakota Classics Collection. Like the Dakotas, the Sheridan Collection was originally made in Italy. Then later models were made in U.S.A. and Costa Rica.
As with the Dakotas, the leathers of the Sheridan Collection, were made from Full-Grained Leather with the Dakotas having a cross-grained pattern; and the Sheridan’s have the pebbled leather. This special perpetual treatment was very expensive resulting in the Sheridan Collection models being high end and unique.
Handbags and totes from the Dakota, Sheridan, and the Madison Collections would maintain the new look far beyond a normally tanned leather handbag. None are exactly the same. Being hand-made, each will have its own uniqueness typical with custom craftsmanship. The quality rivals and exceeds many of the best today.
This beautiful example from the Sheridan Collection is the Charleston. Coach named several models after cities in the United States. In fact, this gorgeous Charleston is one of three that are offered in my shop.
The last picture shows all three. A stunning ensemble.
Another Sheridan model offered is the Durham. This Charleston is one of the original Sheridan models as it has no registration/serial numbers. The model number is 4217. It is also a genuine U.S. handmade models. This Charleston is from the private collection and it is in excellent condition inside and out.
Resplendent in the luxurious color of Light Bone Leather and trimmed in British Tan Leather, it is pure elegance. The leathers has so much depth and shine, you can see light reflections in the pictures.
Open the leather zipper pull to see the flawless, bronze fabric lining. This is a very spacious Coach. The main compartment is all fabric lined as well. There is a single zippered security pocket with the creed. The creed is on matching British Tan leather.
On the outside, there is a full-length pocket and even that pocket has the Bronze fabric lining. The holders for the strap intricately crafted from leather that is an eighth of an inch thick. The strap, the rings are completely removable. The strap itself is of the same thickness. It is supple, spotless clean with no darkening. As you look at the pictures, you can see the shine from the edging. The topstitching is Tan and it is clean throughout. There is one, faint mark just above the pocket at the center that can be removed with Light-Bone or Cream leather conditioner.
The hang tag is not present however, to the new owner, I will provide the information to obtain a new, matching, genuine, and free hang-tag and chain. You will receive your hangtag in about 14 days.
This Sheridan Charleston is a Coach that is very hard to find in any condition and it is a genuine collectible. No doubt, this Coach shows only the best of care with minimal signs of careful use and looks fabulous. The leathers are soft and even in color. The piping as seen in the pictures is even and smooth.
This is one Coach that when you see and feel it, you will love it and what’s more, no one will have one like it.
This fine treasure is large and the dimensions are 10" L x 7 ½ " H x 3" D and the adjustable strap is 48" long.
