This stunning early 1950’s vintage Andé Convertible Clutch in genuine Calfskin leather is one of the most beautiful handbags to be found. Butter-soft in Dark Walnut Calfskin leather set off by the gleaming gold Herringbone chain, it is a handbag that will bring many compliments. It is also absolutely pristine inside and out.
When you first touch this beautiful Andé, the leather feels soft as a pillow. Not often do you find any leather handbag of this vintage in such splendid condition. Reminiscent of the Art-Deco period, the design gives it so much character. Open to see the spotless clean and odor-free Brown Faille lining. There is one slip pocket that is lined in Peach satin. Perfectly sized to hold your phablet-sized smartphone and other essentials inside.
Andé was a fine maker of elegant handbags but today, many have lost their name badge as Andé used a paper label and through the years, it would fall off. However, this Andé still has the original tag intact. Retracted inside is crowning touch of this luxurious handbag; the gleaming, golden chain. The chain is solid and brilliant as a golden mirror.
The frame is calfskin covered and made by the famous Fassbender Company in England. Fassbender made frames for some of the most prestigious designers and it was a mark of quality and excellence. The frame works perfectly giving this gem that elegant touch. The overall quality is astounding.
This is very rare collectible from an era of style that was truly golden. This beauty is perfect to carry with to any formal event or, with vintage attire, and absolutely perfect in the evening. Truly glamorous with gloves.
Dimensions are 10”L x 6 ½ “H x 1 ½”D. The chain affords an 18” drop or 36” long.
