This is a Bonnie Cashin designed Coach that is absolutely gorgeous. To find one pristine like this spectacular model is very rare. The personal size of this Tabac gem signifies that this is a style all to itself as well. From a private collection, it is indeed, pristine.
The leather of this fine satchel is so thick, so rich when you hold it; the smell of clean, high quality leather reminds you that this is special. On top is the oversized solid brass "Talon" zipper with the 2.25" leather pull tab.
Open it to see a spotless, velvet smooth interior with a single slip pocket. There is the creed showing that this is a genuine handmade model from New York City. At the time when this was made, Coach was using serial numbers and none were the same. The serial numbers are: 111-4142. The silky-soft suede is clean and fresh with no ink.
On the outside, the leather is supple and since it is the Full-Grain, Glove Tanned Cowhide, it has only the natural marks characteristic of this luxurious leather. The weight and feel of this satchel leaves no doubt that this is fine leather. Those dust marks from my hands during shooting buffed away completely.
The solid brass metalwork is clean and tarnish free. The handles are clean, supple, and have no wear. The piping is flawless and the color overall is even. What is even more unique is the original one-sided hangtag is present on the original "Ball brand" solid brass chain. The hangtag matches the leather perfectly.
If you are a vintage collector of fine handbags, this is a milestone handbag that you will be proud to own. A newer Coach doesn't even come close to the quality of this fine Cashin. It is simply that nice.
The dimensions are 13" L x 6.5" H x 2.5" D and the handles afford a 3" drop.
A true classic handbag that will make a dramatic statement for the businesswoman, executive, evenings, or for when you travel. Your boarding pass, passport, and other documents fit nicely and are easily accessible. As always, this fine Coach will come to you shipped with the utmost care via USPS Priority Mail with insurance. Never a handling charge, just the exact shipping to your zip code. I will gladly combine shipping on multiple purchases.
