This genuine 1940’s Evening Bag is a sterling example of elegance. Not often do you find a full-framed, structured handbag of this vintage in such pristine condition, inside and out. Made from the softest Black fabric over a firm Box form, it is a satchel that will bring many compliments. From a private collection, it is indeed vintage pristine.
Open the gleaming kiss locks to see a flawless, Black satin lining. There is a zippered center divider and the compartments are spotless clean and has absolutely no odors of age and no marks or tears. The name has long faded away but from the overall quality of this fine handbag, there is no doubt that it was made by one of the finer designers of the time. It is just remarkable how well this handbag is made.
The fabric covering the outside and the folds in the corners and gussets are flawless. The frame works perfectly and closes with that, “Thoomph” sound. No looseness, no worn ends, just silky smooth throughout. The single handle is supple and in good condition. The solid brass metalwork has absolutely no tarnish or pitting and gleams like a golden mirror. The bottom is also clean and shows no wear. This is an Evening Bag that was very well cared for and it shows. It exudes an elegance that will be the crowning touch to your evening attire. You will smile when you see and feel it. It is that nice.
