We have recently come across a massive quantity of all signed EUGENE jewelry. An absolutely delightful and rare opportunity to get your hands on some very hard to find pieces! This is a fabulous vintage necklace which was made and signed by EUGENE.
The necklace features eight strands of faux baroque pearls, art glass, seed beads, crystals, and rhinestone rondelles. There are six strands of yellow seed bead glass beads. The remaining two strands are filled with the faux baroque pearls, rhinestone rondelles, deep yellow crystals, art glass with gold glitter, and clear art glass with gold and white sparkles. An ornate clasp finishes the look with hand wired yellow seed beads, and faux baroque pearl, on to a filigree frame.
The necklace measures just over 16 1/2" long using the innermost strand closest to the neck.
Condition is great!
Great info on EUGENE, the designer...
Eugene Schultz once worked for Miriam Haskell, but had his own business, Eugene Jewelry Co., and designed his own line of costume jewelry for about 10 years, beginning in 1962. Prior to that he had worked as a costumer most notably for the Perry Como Show.
Eugene jewelry pieces often had very decorative clasps. Eugene pieces were also handmade and they looked similar to Miriam Haskell pieces as they were all hand wired to filigree frames and used the same components and materials.
