Inspired by Hollywood, Retro jewelry is colorful, bold and elaborate. This recently acquired set is no exception. Designed in the mid 1940s, during the Retro period, these pieces are pristine. While I cannot guarantee that this is a set, the original owner said they were purchased as a set and were a set.
The stunning fur clip is said to have been fashioned after the Empire State Building. It features a curved row of octagon Emerald rhinestones in heavy prongs. Large Emerald teardrop rhinestone and gleaming White teardrop rhinestones are set out and upward in gorgeous pristine Rhodium Plating. The double pins hook under the double "c" clasp. The fur clip is 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" and is trademarked Eisenberg in the same handwritten script as Eisenberg Original but without the second word (mid-1940s).
The screw back earrings feature large princess cut Emerald rhinestones with more of an Art Deco design featuring small faceted round White rhinestones and medium marquise stones. These are from the same period and trademarked with the script "E" (mid-1940s). The earrings are 1" x 3/4" and in pristine condition.
This is truly a rare find to see these wonderful pieces from a bygone era in this condition and in the original box. The box is a bit worn, but a piece of history as well.
