This is an absolutely exquisite example of 1930s Japanese lustreware. This dish is primarily for decorative use so as not to mar the lovely hand painted design and it is quite unusual to find a handled dish as well. This beautiful piece is 7" long and 4" wide in an oval shape with a curved design . The offset handle is another feature that makes this dish unique. The florals in the dish well are brilliant in yellow, orange and burgundy with greenery. The lustreware around the edges and on the handle is magnificent! The dish bears the Seiei & Co hallmark that is a bird in a circle with Hand Painted Made in Japan. It is in excellent condition with only the slightest of wear on the very edges of the dish that goes relatively unnoticed.
