Pauline Rader was born into a jewelry family and began designing her own jewelry around 1962. Her designs were highly imaginative and usually fell into the category of 'bigger is better'.
This Rader necklace is a big bold cream-tone Lucite beaded beauty with 5 chunky antiqued metal Tribal melon beads. The metal beads are accented with rings of white and silver bead-edged disks on each side.
The necklace measures 32 inches around. The silvertone beads are 1 1/8 inches high. The cream Lucite beads are 1/2 inch wide.
The PAULINE RADER hallmark hangtag hangs next to the screw barrel closure which is SO secure, it refuses to unscrew to open. Could be, someone glued it together as it's not needed. This necklace is long enough to easily slip on and off without messing a hair.
Pauline Rader produced her jewelry designs in small quantities for a select clientele and elite boutiques so her pieces are hard to find and very collectible. She ceased production in the 1980s.
