This Victorian 18K gold necklace is fit for Royalty and it's undoubtedly one of a kind.
It has 14 European-cut diamonds. 3 navette cut genuine amethyst stones, and one genuine perfect pearl dangle. The stones are bezel set in solid 18K yellow and white gold.
The sturdy link chain is 18K gold ending in a slide-in tube clasp with side guard. The clasp is marked 19K with a hallmark shaped like a shield and the letter ~T~ at the bottom point. In fact, this necklace has several hallmarks, none of which we could identify. There are several '19K' marks and other symbols that may be of French origin but we can't be sure. We are sure that this has been tested for 18K and diamonds and all is the real thing. The total weight of the necklace is 15.8 grams.
The diamonds are European-cut, small but with strong sparkle emanating from their rough-cut beauty. The amethyst stones add up to several carats of open-back natural color. Each measures about 10mm by 5mm. Under magnification, they show minimal wear...nothing notable.
The necklace measures 19 inches around. There's a 1 1/2 inch drop at center jewels. The necklace has not been polished in any way and we suspect it would look even more beautiful with a professional cleaning. We leave it to the buyer to decide.
