This is an interesting old miniature fisherman figurine. It's made of sterling silver and was handwrought in a kind of folk art stick figure form with rolled, hammered pieces of silver.
Made in Israel circa 1950s, the fisherman measures 2 inches high to the top of his curving pole by 1 1/4 inches across the base. It weighs 7 grams.
The crafter who made this apparently focused mostly on ethnic Judaic themes like Hasidic fiddlers or dancers. It's not often one comes across a Hasidic fisherman so we'll assume he's just a 'generic' fisherman who's faith lies in getting a bite on his reel.
The base is signed ISRAEL 925. We've left the silver patina unpolished for you to decide. These miniature Israeli figurines were made both for export and also sold as tourist souvenirs for their small, fit-in-your-bag size. Excellent vintage condition.
