Judith McCann was an artist and jewelry designer who wanted to upgrade the status quo. So she reinvented the earring by creating the Wing Back in 1944. And then she continued to design innovative jewelry so that women got the most fun and versatility out of their jewels.
This vintage Judith McCann crystal necklace (or bracelet) is 'crystal necklace made better' (our moniker for it). The gorgeous pink and clear faceted beads are the finest that Austria made. They're 9mm wide. Little faux seed pearls are in between. And then there's that unique Shuvon rhinestone clasp that McCann designed.
The rhinestone clasp at each end allows you to clasp it at any length you like along the 22 inch strand. The two clasps just shove on (Shuvon) at your chosen spots to create something different. You can even wrap this strand around your wrist for a stunning bracelet or attach this to another crystal necklace you have. The possibilities are endless.
McCann designed, produced and marketed her unique jewelry line from 1955 to 1975. This necklace is signed on both clasps...JUDITH MCCANN DESIGNS.
The prong set rhinestones in the clasps are slightly yellowed with age but since they're all evenly the same color, it looks like it was intentional.
Overall in excellent vintage condition. Circa 1950s.
