This is so resplendently fancy, you'd think it belonged to a member of royalty. But no...it was mostly likely owned by a dashing Victorian gent who wanted to have a nice fob for his watch. And so it is...a nice fob for a watch. But it's more.
With the goldtone mesh ribbon and the heavily goldplated decorative adornments at the top and front of the mesh, this fine old piece becomes a very unique ladies' pendant necklace when hung over a goldtone chain.
The fob has a short watch chain marked with maker's initials on the clasp. The back of the fob also has its clip which is attachable to clothing or chain or ribbon. The etched coin-like gilded piece is engraved with initials. They may be any number of possible letters...so scrolly and swirly, they're hard to make out.
Clip this true antique fob to something. Hang it on a chain. Add a locket, charm, pendant or watch to the clasp. Be on your merry way, knowing that you have something special that few others have discovered.
