We don't know who Mary Beatty is/was but she definitely had a deft way with a paint brush on cloth. These two examples of her talent are in the form of jewelry.
Both paintings are of young women with gilt rick-rack borders and tassels at the bottom. One has a rollover pin clasp and a bail at the top for a chain. The other one is done with added lace and tiny jewel beads on the front. The back has a little loop at the top for a chain and shows the residue from once having had a pin.
These measure 5 1/2 inches long with tassel. Widths are 2 3/4 and 3 1/2 inches.
Both mini paintings are signed MARY BEATTY. Beautifully done. Circa 1970s. When you're not wearing them, they're perfect for the wall.
