Heavy and elaborately cut through 800 silver, this Italian Peruzzi style bracelet is quite incredible. Each of the four links are carved with scenes of bizarre creatures.
The first link shows a warrior with a shield battling a large bird carrying a shield of its own. The second link shows a bird and a two-headed gargoyle battling it out with tongues. Link three has a centaur with a bow. Link four shows a man on a short-legged creature. This link appears to have been partly gilded at one time.
The bracelet links are gently curved to wrap around the wrist. The bracelet measures 7 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide. It weighs a substantial 79 grams. There's a secure wide slide-in box clasp that closes with a 'snap'.
The bracelet is marked 800 in two places. It acid-tests for close to sterling. It's unpolished...we've left the antique patina for the buyer to polish or not. It's in excellent vintage condition. Circa 1920. Very unique with Italian artistry at its most intriguing.
