Their advertising line in 1948 said 'MAZER - The Precious look in fashion jewelry'. And 'precious' it looks. This 1940s Mazer Brothers necklace is made with shimmering clear crystals and faux sapphires hand set in bright goldtone metal.
The center is a beautiful Art Deco design with extending jeweled curves that meet up with the woven gilt chain.
The necklace measures 14 1/2 inches long, ending in a secure rhodium-plated, rhinestone covered foldover clasp. It's marked MAZER BROS. The faux sapphire pear-cut drop hangs to a length of 1 3/4 inches at center. Excellent vintage condition. Circa 1940s.
Mazer Bros. was founded in New York City in 1923 by Joseph and Louis Mazer. Jewelry production began in 1927 and continued under the brand Mazer Bros. until 1951. Their jewelry was well-designed with top-quality elements and craftsmanship.
