This handmade Navajo necklace features five soaring eagles with genuine turquoise and red coral inlay. When you look closely at each eagle, you see the expertise and precision it took to get this level of detail. It's very impressive. So are the handwrought silver bench beads that make the chain for the eagles. The beads are 5mm wide.
The back of each eagle is signed STERLING L - the ~L~ being sideways. There are several Navajo silversmiths who had a version of that hallmark so we're not sure which one made this piece.
The necklace measures 19 inches long. It's 1 3/4 inches at the longest eagle at center. The necklace weighs 29.5 grams. The simple hook and eye closure makes it easy to put on and remove.
The patina is unpolished...beautiful just as it is. Excellent vintage condition. Circa 1960s.
