This doe-eyed beauty in her flowered straw hat was hand-painted and enameled into a pin or pendant. The frame is sterling silver in a twisting rope design.
The one flaw which we didn't see till we looked at this with a magnifier is that there's a hairline crack across her gold foil bodice. It blends right into the textured foil so it was unnoticed till the magnified view.
The pin measures 1 1/4 inches across by 1 5/8 inches high. It weighs 10 grams. The back has both a secure rollover clasp and the lift-up bail for a chain. Unmarked but has been acid-tested for sterling silver.
In spite of the flaw, this Victorian style lady is beautifully painted and enameled in cobalt blue, rose, and gilt. Priced accordingly. Circa 1930s.
