There's no doubt that this is the design of Ecuadorean master artist Oswaldo Guayasamin. This modernist cuff bracelet and matching ring set is marked ECUADOR 900...without his name.
His work is unmistakable and this set matches his pieces precisely. He worked in 900 silver in his home of Ecuador. His jewelry designs were exclusively crafted by hand by local craftsmen. He did not sign them all.
This bracelet is a cuff that opens to the top with rounded arrows set with large red coral colored stones. The edges all around are smooth and polished while the inside is finely pebbled in a textured design. Bracelet measures 7 1/8 inches around (with the opening) and is 1 5/8 inches wide at the ends. Bracelet weighs 34.7 grams.
The matching ring is size 8.5. It measures 3/4 inch wide on top and weighs 5.3 grams.
Both the bracelet and ring are marked Ecuador 900 (test for sterling). Both have slight flex for getting on and off. We haven't polished these, leaving it to buyer to decide on how they prefer the patina.
Guayasamin's work is rare and coveted. You might find a bracelet. You might find a ring. Finding both together is a rare discovery.
