We'll state the obvious...it's nearly impossible to photograph a shiny metal curved thing without getting lots of weird shadows, distortions and reflections. That said, we did our best to show you this fabulous vintage pin by Coro.
It was made in the 1940s in the Taxco workshop of Mexican silver maestro Hector Aguilar. Aguilar made silver jewelry for Coro from 1943 to 1950.
This pin is a round, concave shape made of solid sterling silver with a rose gold vermeil overlay. It's made of three interlocking pieces. In the center is a large faux emerald glass rhinestone. The stone measures 17mm by 24mm and has one tiny nick at the edge. The pin measures 2 3/8 inches each way. It weighs 33 grams.
The back of the pin is marked MADE IN MEXICO - CORO - SILVER. The rollover clasp works securely.
There are a few scuffs/scratches/black spots to the surface. Some may polish out but we leave it to buyer and the experts.
Overall, this rare Coro - Aguilar pin is in very good+ vintage condition.
