These are great old Victorian cufflinks. Each has an ornate design with varied etching and texture. There's a little flower enameled in black and red.
The backs have a unique patented closure marked / dated 1875. For the most part, these work. One link works smoothly every time. The other one is playful...at times, the back comes off with ease. And then it becomes stubborn and tests your mettle with its unyielding metal...and just when you're ready to give up, it gives and opens. It's easy enough when it works...just push in the side locks and pull off the back. (Maybe a cleaning will help.)
The cufflinks measure 5/8 inch each way. There's light age-appropriate wear but overall, these attractive cufflinks are in very good antique condition.
