What a gorgeous pin...right out of the Victorian era. It's made of solid 14K yellow gold with the exception of the clasp pin which is made of something stronger for its function.
The center gold ball rocks in its cradle, dangling three perfectly formed curvy dangles. The ornate header is etched and scrolled with a foliate design.
The pin measures 1 3/8 inches across by 2 3/8 inches long. It weighs 5 grams. There are no markings but this has been both acid and machine tested for 14K gold. There's a secure rollover clasp that appears to be original though it might have been an early replacement. We've left this pin unpolished. The front is very bright and gold as you'd expect. The back patina can be cleaned/polished a bit but we leave it to the buyer to decide. Overall in excellent antique condition. Circa 1880s.
