You could stare at it for hours...it's that mesmerizing. This large outstanding art glass paperweight was made by Robert Eickholt. He's a well known glass artist who has been creating captivating blown glass for almost 40 years. (We read that he retired in 2013.)
Each of Eickholt's creations is made one at a time and is completely unique. This heavy oblong dome paperweight is a double decker of delight. Two large 'bubbles' sit atop each other with ghostly curves of bluish rays reaching up. Each of the bubbles have their own floating bubble inside. One looks like a Hershey chocolate kiss. Controlled bubbles float in a decorative design. Different lighting creates a varying color hue...never a dull moment.
The paperweight measures 3 1/4 inches across at the widest. It's 3 3/4 inches high. The bottom tapers to a base that measures 1 1/2 inches across. The bottom is hand etched signed...EICKHOLT 1996 W?AN? (not sure what that last word is).
Through a magnifier you might see a couple of very light minimal scuffs or fleabite nicks on the underside rim bottom. You'll have to look hard for anything notable. Condition is overall excellent pre-owned and the quality is top of the line.
