Here's a rare and beautiful early advertising tin for DIMITRINO & CO. cigarettes. The colorful lithographed tin says...Manufacture de Tabacs et Cigarettes d'Orient - Caire Egypte (Cairo Egypt).
The graphics on the front of the tin show a lavishly-adorned Egyptian beauty smoking a cigarette.
The Smoking Lady sits atop the deluxe size box which held 100 cigarettes...a rare size at 5 by 5 3/4 inches. It's 1 1/2 inches thick.
The back is lithographed with a scene of the DIMITRINO 1886 CIGARETTE MANUFACTURERS building in Cairo Egypt. The lid opens on a hinge and the inside is lithographed with the awards won by this company.
The box shows some light age-related soil, edge wear, nicks to litho and one negligible indent near edge. This antique tin is overall in excellent vintage condition. We don't usually see such an early tin in such fine condition. It gets high marks on everything from graphics to size to subject, to rarity and condition.
