This vintage 1970s version of an early tribal necklace is done in silver-tone metal, with all the intricate detailing of a real one. Most of the early necklaces were made of sterling or coin silver and are now owned by museums.
This necklace captures the complicated beadwork, the multi links with embossed motif, the highly-decorative ends with faux Arabic coin. the artistry of Middle East silver work, and the hefty substance of the work. (Many of the nomad tribes who were silversmiths, wore their wealth as jewelry...no bank safe deposit box required.)
The necklace measures 19 inches long. It's best clasped at 16 to 18 inches. It's 2 1/8 inches wide. It weighs 150 grams. Condition is clean and excellent.
