This vintage 1940s stretch bracelet was made by Co-Star with a gold-filled top expansion band. These bracelets were popular with military men who sent them to their sweethearts (including moms, sisters, and friends) during WW II.
This one was sent by a seaman as it has the anchor insignia of the U.S.N....Navy atop the mother-of-pearl heart.
The bracelet is not inscribed as many were so you can have this one monogrammed on the back of the heart if you wish.
The inside of the band is marked CO-STAR 1/20 12K TOPS - STAINLESS BACKS. The band alternates engraved ~S~ shaped links with smooth links.
The bracelet measures about 5 1/2 inches around when not expanded. It expands to about 6 1/2 inches. Since it was never worn, there's some room for the band to 'relax' a bit bigger. The center heart measures 3/4 inch high by 3/4 inch across. Width of the band is 1/2 inch. The bracelet is in unworn, excellent condition. Circa 1940s.
