This is quite the fantastic necklace. It's Chinese, circa 1920s.
The star of this large impressive jewel is the big green cloisonné enamel ball pendant. It's 2 inches across. It's capped at top and bottom with solid 14K yellow gold disks. Around the ball, are enameled symbols of flowers and fruit...representing abundance. The view of the pomegranates is slightly flawed with a ding to the enamel surface...not so noticeable except on close inspection.
A wide 14K gold bail holds the 42 inch chain of pink quartz beads. They alternate in round and nugget shapes. The round beads are about 10mm wide. Two egg-shaped cloisonné beads are also part of the chain, one on each side to compliment the large ball.
The secure slide-in box clasp is also 14K gold. It's hallmarked with what might say '14K' or a maker's mark...hard to make out. We've acid-tested all the gold components and they are all 14K...and there's a generous amount of it.
The necklace weighs 178 grams. Except for the aforementioned ding, this necklace is in excellent vintage condition.
