These early Kenneth J. Lane earrings are from the 1960s, probably his most memorable period for big, bold statement pieces that attracted First Ladies, Royalty and movie stars* (see list below).
These earrings are made with large faux turquoise cabochons, circled by faux coral and jade stones. The entire earring is surrounded by dangling white faux pearls. The setting is gold-tone metal.
The earrings measure 2 1/4 inches across by 3 1/8 inches long. They have clip-back posts that hold securely. In spite of the their size, these are not heavy and wear very comfortably. The backs are marked K.J.L. Excellent vintage condition.
*Among the 1960s K.J.L. fans were Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Raquel Welch, Ivana Trump, Nancy Reagan, Barbara Bush and Princess Diana.
