If people stare at you when you wear these earrings, it's because they're seeing a face. Not yours...the face on your ears.
It's the face of a bearded man. A wise-looking man. Maybe Father Time. It's a face that looks old, wise and kindly. It's hand-hammered into a curved rectangular plate of sterling silver. He's a subtle miniature artwork so when you look at these earrings you wonder if it's texture you see...or is that really a face. It's a face.
Below the face, there's a circle of genuine 14K solid yellow gold. In it is a gemstone...clear/cloudy white. Not sure what it is but it's a nice stone.
The earrings are signed though we can't make out the hallmark (see photo). The posts are marked 14K. The guard backs are marked 925. The earrings test for sterling. The circle dangle tests for 14K gold. The earrings weigh 4.6.
The face remains a mystery. Excellent vintage condition...left unpolished. Circa 1960s.
