This antique Victorian watch pin is inspired by Egyptian culture which became all the rage across Europe in the latter half of the 1800s.
This pin of a winged Egyptian symbol is enameled in red, green and turquoise with some cobalt blue. The pin is made of 800 silver. In the center is a porcelain scarab which represents rebirth and resurrection.
The pin measures 1 3/8 inches across by 1 1/4 inches high. It weighs 7 grams. The back is marked 800 and has the original extended point curled ~C~ clasp. There's a bit of damage to the enamel at the top of the left wing. This may be repairable by a jeweler or at least, enamel painted to match by someone with a deft hand. We leave this as is for buyer to decide. Even with the flaw, this is a rare early Egyptian motif piece.
In addition to holding a watch, this can be used to hang a locket or any pendant that you like. The back has a secure long hook for showcasing your treasures. Very good antique condition. Colorful and beautiful pin. Late 1800s.
