Yes, you read that right. Dominoes. Or Dominos. Either spelling is correct. They're not something you expect to see worked so deftly into a necklace. But here they are...five of them (made of plastic or wood) with inset painted gold dots.
The domino tiles look like a ladder with a rope of white marbled beads. The beads are about 8mm and continue up the long chain that's 32 inches around. The domino ladder measures 6 inches long and the tiles measure about 1 1/8 inches long by 1/2 inch wide by 1/4 inch thick. The necklace weighs 102 grams.
The beads are cold and are subtly patterned with gray/tan swirls. There's a screw barrel clasp closure. This unusual necklace is in excellent vintage condition. When it's worn, the dominoes are not obvious at first but oh what a surprise when someone sees what they are. Fashionable fun. Circa 1960.
