It's the intricate twists and turns of silver wire that makes this pin so intriguing. The coiled silver is decorated with raised beads and diamond-shaped edges. The bottom has five dancing dangles of openwork filigree.
The pin can also be worn as a pendant. The back has both a secure rollover clasp and a bail for a chain. The pin is unmarked but has been acid-tested for sterling.
The pin measures 2 by 2 inches. It weighs 11.3 grams. We haven't polished it, leaving the patina as found for buyer to decide. Such fine filigree work was made in just a few countries that were known for this centuries old craft. Pin is in excellent vintage condition. Circa 1950s.
