Many years ago, I bought a necklace similar to this one...made of solid brass with an inlaid stone pendant. I didn't know where it came from as it was unmarked but I thought it was so unique and exotic I decided to keep it. It's been in my jewelry drawer for decades (early 1970s) and I wear it when I just want 'something different'.
Now I have this one to offer...and because this one still has its tag on the back, I know more about it. This was handmade in Greece.
It's a two-piece thick solid brass band decorated with silver-tone sliding wire (it slid up in the photo) and round brass beads and dangles. At center is the chunky solid brass pendant with inlaid enameled stones.
The necklace measures about 14 3/4 inches around...close to the neck but comfortable to wear. The center measures 1 3/8 inches across and hangs 2 1/4 inches long. The necklace has an easy to use hook clasp at one side. The original tag remains on the back...HAND MADE IN GREECE - DEL. The old brass patina is beautiful and should probably not be polished though it's buyer's choice. This necklace will sit in your jewelry drawer for all the times you're in the mood for 'something different'.
